I want your experience with Visuals By Sham Photography to be clear, comfortable, and seamless from booking to final delivery. Here are answers to the questions clients ask most.
Standard sessions can be booked directly through my booking site. Select the service that best fits your needs, choose an available date and time, and complete all required booking steps.
For events, corporate work, branding projects, travel, or custom concepts, please submit an inquiry first.
Yes. A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date and time. Your session isn't officially booked until the retainer and booking information have been received — it's non-refundable because that date and time are reserved specifically for you.
Your remaining balance and payment deadline will be provided during the booking process. All required payments must be completed according to the terms of your booking.
Last-minute availability is not guaranteed. If I am able to accommodate a session requested within 24 hours, a $50 squeeze-in fee will apply.
One reschedule is permitted. Rescheduling within 24 hours of your appointment is subject to a $25 fee, and your preferred replacement date is subject to availability.
Retainers are non-refundable if you cancel. Please communicate any changes as soon as possible.
Visuals By Sham offers portraits, lifestyle, branding and creator sessions, graduation, maternity, engagement, events, headshots, product photography, real estate, and other creative photography services.
If you have something in mind that isn't listed, submit an inquiry so we can determine the best fit for your vision.
Both! I have a studio near Howell Mill that's used for most studio sessions. If that location isn't feasible for your session, I can also look for a studio near you — travel fees may apply, and any studio rental cost at an alternate location is the client's responsibility.
Yes! Creative direction can include help with concepts, wardrobe, locations, props, and mood boards — feel free to send inspiration photos to help communicate the look you want.
For larger productions, branding campaigns, or more involved concepts, additional planning fees may apply.
Yes! You do not need to know how to pose before your session. I'll provide direction throughout the shoot while also allowing room for natural movement and personality.
The number of looks depends on the package you book, and additional outfits do not extend your scheduled session time.
Props are welcome as long as they're appropriate for the location — just let me know ahead of time if you're planning to bring something specific.
Hair and makeup are not automatically included unless specifically stated in your package or arranged beforehand. Please arrive camera-ready and prepared to begin at your scheduled session time.
Yes, but please keep your support team small — 1–2 guests unless otherwise discussed. Your session is reserved for the person or people in your original booking, so please ask beforehand if you'd like to add someone else to your session.
Yes, for both local and destination projects. Travel fees may apply based on distance and will be communicated before your booking is finalized.
Clients may also be responsible for parking, permits, or location fees required at their selected location.
For outdoor sessions, weather conditions will be monitored. If weather creates unsafe conditions or prevents us from reasonably completing the session, we'll determine the appropriate next step — cloudy weather alone does not necessarily require rescheduling.
Plan to arrive with enough time to park and be ready to begin at your scheduled time. A 15-minute grace period is provided — after that, a $25 late fee applies, and sessions may be canceled after 30 minutes. Arriving late does not extend your scheduled session time.
Yes. Outfit changes, touch-ups, and transitions are included within your scheduled session time. Having your outfits and accessories organized beforehand helps us maximize shooting time.
We'll prioritize your most important looks and shots first. Your session ends at its scheduled time — additional time is not guaranteed and, when available, may require an additional fee.
Studio or location information will be provided with your booking details or session reminders when applicable. Please review all communication before your session and plan your route ahead of time.
A proof gallery contains images from your session for you to review and select favorites for professional editing. Proofs are not finished photographs, and they cannot be downloaded, screenshotted, or shared unless you've purchased an option that includes the full proof gallery.
When your gallery is delivered, you'll receive instructions on how many favorites are included with your package and how to submit your selections.
Selections must be completed at least 24 hours before editing begins. If they're not submitted within the required timeframe, I may select your final images for you to keep your project moving.
Yes. Additional professionally edited images are $15 each unless otherwise stated. Full proof gallery options may also be available depending on the session — though purchasing it doesn't automatically mean every image receives full professional retouching.
RAW files are not included unless a specific service explicitly states otherwise. They're unfinished working files straight from the camera, and may initially look flatter than the final photo since color, contrast, and lighting adjustments are intentionally completed during editing.
Editing may include lighting and color correction, background cleanup, skin and facial retouching, body retouching when appropriate, cropping, and other finishing adjustments. The goal is a polished final image that still looks like you.
Many minor distractions can be corrected during editing. Extensive manipulation or special requests may require additional editing and may be subject to an additional fee.
Please don't apply filters, heavy edits, or AI alterations to delivered images yourself — reach out if there's something you'd like adjusted.
Standard turnaround is approximately 7–10 days, beginning after your final selections have been submitted. Rush editing (24, 48, or 72-hour options) may be available for an additional fee if confirmed in advance.
Final images are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download the photographs included with your package. Please download and properly back up your final images after delivery.
Absolutely — final delivered images may be shared according to the usage terms provided with your session, and tagging @visualsxsham is always appreciated.
Images may also be used in my portfolio, website, or marketing per those same terms, unless your session required privacy or confidentiality.
If you notice something you'd like adjusted, please reach out with the image number and your request. Whether the change is included or requires an additional retouching fee will depend on the request.
Yes. Event photography is available with a standard two-hour minimum unless otherwise stated in your custom quote.
When inquiring, please include your date, location, start and end time, type of event, and any important moments you want captured.
Yes. Corporate, team, and group headshot services are available. Pricing depends on factors such as the number of people, location, backdrop requirements, setup, and number of final images.
Absolutely. Branding, creator, product, corporate, and commercial photography services are available.
Commercial or advertising usage may affect licensing and pricing, so please explain how your business plans to use the images when requesting a quote.
Possibly. Photography is my primary service, and video availability is limited. Any request involving video must be discussed during a consultation before booking so we can determine the coverage and deliverables your project requires.
Submit an inquiry! Not every project fits neatly into a package. Custom quotes are available for projects involving unique coverage, travel, production, creative direction, commercial usage, or other special requirements.
Clear communication from the beginning helps us create the best possible experience from planning to final delivery.
